This originates from South America, probably moving around the world with the Spanish conquistadors while they searched for gold! Named because of its winged shape, that resembles the flaps on a ‘Bishop’s Crown’. This 3-4′ plant will produce 40-50+ uniquely shaped fruit, which are around 4cm long. The 3-4 wings are a milder and fruiter flavour than the main part of the chilli, which has a medium heat itself. 5,000-15,000SHU. Maturing from light green to apple red, this beautiful variety is extremely ornamental. Cropping and ripening later than the majority of other chillies, this has resulted in its nickname ‘Christmas Bell’.
